Beep vs Vercel

A Vercel alternative on your own servers.

Vercel is built for front ends. When the stack grows long-running workers, cron jobs and databases, the bill grows with it. Beep runs the whole stack, front end included, on servers you control.

Vercel and the rest, on one stack.

Seven small apps, two Postgres databases and an open pull request preview, under 100 GB of egress. Published list prices — no credits, no expiring free tiers.

Beep figure is the plan plus the Hetzner CX23 you pay the provider directly. Competitor figures use the smallest instance each service sells that keeps every app always-on; previews at their per-environment rate. Checked October 2026.

Which one fits?

Beep fits when

  • ✓You want many apps, databases and workers without a line item for each
  • ✓You want your apps on servers from a provider you choose
  • ✓You want push-to-deploy, previews and zero-downtime releases without running them yourself

Vercel fits when

  • →Your app is a front end that fits serverless and edge functions well
  • →You want the tightest possible Next.js integration from the framework’s authors

Beep and Vercel, answered.

Straight answers. Anything missing, ask us directly.

How is Beep different from Vercel?

Vercel runs your apps on Vercel’s serverless and edge network and prices them per seat plus usage, with databases from partner services billed separately. Beep runs them on servers you choose, from Beep Cloud or your own cloud account, and bills per server, never per service.

Can I move from Vercel to Beep?

Yes. Connect a server, point Beep at your GitHub or GitLab repository and add your environment variables. Beep detects the stack with Railpack, or uses your Dockerfile or prebuilt image, and gives each service a URL with HTTPS before you move your domain.

Which plans include preview environments?

Developer and above. Active pull request previews are 3 on Developer, 10 on Team, and 25 on Business; Hobby has none. Each GitHub pull request gets its own environment on your servers, removed when the pull request closes.

Can I SSH into my servers?

No, and that’s deliberate. Beep manages each host end to end, so manual changes can’t conflict with its setup and Beep can stay responsible for security. To debug, open a shell inside any container from the dashboard, right next to your logs and metrics.
